Libby’s ceramic work reflects an interest in animal forms. Some of the modelling is realistic whilst other work is more stylised. Each piece is individually modelled. Current work includes hares; goats; badgers; sheep; cheetah: geese; hens. New designs are being added all the time, often following a long gestation period and considerable experimentation.
Libby adopts a varied approach to her painting, which is predominantly in acrylic. Some of her work is quite abstract whilst other is more figurative. One of the distinguishing features of all her work is a vibrant use of colour. Much of her work reflects her interest in the local landscape (the Lake District of Northern England). A particular passion is her fascination with Levens Hall Garden that is renowned for its ancient topiary. In the summer of 2004 she had a major solo exhibition of more than 30 paintings based on the gardens. Currently she is painting for several mixed exhibitions that are taking place in 2005 and planning her next solo exhibition.
